My CVS Scenario 7/4/10!

I know a lot of people have questions about how you save money at drug stores, so I am going to outline my planned trips for both Walgreen’s and CVS each week.  I think seeing my plans for transactions before I do them will be more helpful than after I do them (I know a lot of people – myself included! – prefer to shop early on Sunday).

This week at CVS I will be starting with $10.00 in ECB from the Huggies deal a few weeks back.  My plan is to pay $0.71 (plus tax) and then have $2.00 in ECBs for next week.

Purchase:

- Charmin Basic 12 count $5.49

Use $1.00/1 Home Mailer – I just received this today – how lucky!

- Bounty 8 Pack $6.99

Use $2.00/1 Cash Register Tape Coupon – I received this from the “coupon center” in the store!

PLUS – Use $0.25/1 insert coupon

- Dawn $0.99 (purchasing 2!)

Use 2 – $0.25/1 insert coupons

Price before any coupons/ECBs = $14.46

Minus Manufacture Coupons = – $1.75

Minus CRTs and ECBs = – $12.00

Total = $0.71 (plus tax)

Get Back= $1.00 ECB (Bounty) and $1.00 ECB (Charmin)

It’s not the most impressive transaction as I typically like to get back about as much as I put in with my ECBs, but toilet paper and paper towels are one of those things that can be difficult to find a good stockpile price.  I am hoping for a better “money making” week for next week so I can grow the $2.00 in ECBs that I get back.
