Walgreen’s Coupon Deals 1/17/10-1/23/10!

PRINTABLE VERSION HERE Walgreen's is looking decent this week as there are some good deals to be had on cold medications and diapers - which in my house both of these tend to be a must!  Remember when shopping at Walgreen's that you must have as many items as coupons for your transaction to work - if you need something extra, look for a "filler".  I tend to check for clearance pens, pencils, or cheap pieces of single candy.  Also, Walgreen's has their own coupons that can be combined with manufacture coupons - resulting in even greater savings!  These are called Instant Value Coupons (IVC) and are often at the front of the store with the weekly ads. - Nyquil, Dayquil, Vicks Formula 44, Vaposyrup, Vapopads $5.00 Buy $15.00 worth and get $5.00 in Register Rewards, Buy $20.00 worth get $10.00 in Register Rewards Use $1.50/1 coupon from 12/27/09 PG Use $2.00/1 coupon from 1/17/10 PG **look for this in Sunday's inserts! Has anyone else had a problem with RR at Wag lately? The last time I went in I was buying the Electrasol and a couple other miscellaneous items. I used a RR (that may have been from a previous Electrasol purchase) and the RR that was suppose to print for buying the Electrasol did not print. The manager said something about using a register reward “cancels out” any you might receive-???? So I’m not sure if this was because I used a RR from Electrasol on another Electrasol purchase. Anyone know?

I do know that if you use a RR from an item that is from the same manufacture (for example, using an electrasol RR to buy another electrasol product, or using a huggies RR from diapers to use on buying huggies wipes/body wash/etc) then it will not print another RR. One of those caveats about Walgreen’s…..another thing to watch for is to make sure that you have at least as many items as coupons – if you don’t – they won’t take all your coupons. Walgreen’s can be a great place to shop – you just have to know all the ins and outs of their “system” I hope that helps! If you have any other questions – feel free to shoot me an email: amber at savingmoneywisely.com Thanks for reading!

Thanks Sarah L. and Amber! I was wondering the same thing re the RRs. Is CVS the same way with their ECBs?

    • savingmoneywisely says:

No, Thank Goodness! At CVS you can use your ECBs on anything (except alcohol, gift cards, etc). But there are no restrictions on using a Huggies ECB to buy more Huggies – which is nice!

Are you not doing weekly match-ups for CVS anymore or have they just not been having any good deals worth mentioning?
